Life moves like a spiral, both upwards and downwards. I’ve battled depression throughout my life, but staying positive, and focusing on the things in life that make me happy has been the best therapy. Photography has always been a creative outlet that has allowed me to express myself through a whole range of emotions.  This site is geared towards focusing on the simple things in life that make me smile.

My love of photography started when I was a teenager.  A national newspaper used to publish a slick, glossy magazine once a month, focusing on all the good things in life.  I didn’t care so much about the subject matter as I did about the images. They were mesmerizing to me in both their simplicity and beauty. It was this publication that stirred an interest in photography for me. I wanted to learn how to take photographs like that!  Over the years, I’ve taken classes and workshops, and lately an online course to brush up on my technical skills. Now, I may not be the most technically proficient or original photographer out there, but I always know when I’ve captured an image that I’m proud of. If it strikes some sort of emotional response in me, then I know I’ve accomplished something. Photography has always helped me to express myself, through my ups and downs, and will continue to be something I strive to improve upon, both personally and artistically.

I hope you enjoy my images and stories.
